BlueBloodRed - CD Photography - "Filling the Void"

Photographed BlueBloodRed the other day for their debut album "Fill the Void". The band is expecting to release the CD in the next month once everything is finalized. Currently the music is being mixed by Ryan Greene who is a icon in the music industry. Ryan Greene has produced a multitude of punk & rock bands such as Bad Religion, NOFX, Lagwagon, Strungout, etc. Basically this guy is the man and they definitely have their music in the right hands to get the right sound. Click "here" for a little more information on Ryan Greene and his extensive background.
Spent several hours with the band photographing them where they practice which is what they wanted. I had a few ideas in mind before the shoot and they were pretty easy going and open minded so we just went with the flow. Overall I think the shoot turned out great and we ended up with quite a few images to work with. The end result for the images will be for the CD artwork and advertising themselves.
Below are some of the images that I like and I have messed around with. The next hard part is for the band to pick out from a numerous amount of images the final winners that will go on the CD layout.
Special thanks to BlueBloodRed for having me be a part of your project.
As soon as the CD is officially released I will post a link to where it can be listened to and purchased.

The Rattlesnake Aces - Band Photo Shoot

Had the opportunity of photographing The Rattlesnake Aces at their studio in Escondido, CA. This band consist of ex-members of past ripping bands of San Diego.
Agent 51, Unwritten Law & Hornswaggled were all major influences on the San Diego music scene over the years. Very cool to see them all still working on their passion which is music. We all had a great time and got some awesome photos. Look forward to working with them again in the future.
For more information on the band please check out their myspace page. Click on the link below.

BlueBloodRed CD Cover - "Fill the Void"

Just finished assembling a C.D. cover for a local band called BlueBloodRed. My older brother Jeff is in the band and plays bass guitar and they are releasing a C.D. in the near future. Jeff stopped by today to go over the final layout, font and a few other details. I'm extremely proud of my brother Jeff for moving forward with his music and passion. Jeff has released a handful of C.D.'s in the past, but, I have a feeling this work of art is going to have a lot more meaning behind it.
Not just saying this because he is my brother, but, I think Jeff is musical genius and he will eventually do something big with music. He has truly inspired me over the years and has helped me tremendously to pursue my goal of playing guitar.
As soon as the C.D. is released I will post a link to where it can be purchased or heard and do a little write up about the entire band.

Check out, "The Rain Song" on their myspace page. 5th song down. Just me, but, I dig the simplicity in the guitars.

Exum Recording Studio

Stopped by Exum Recording Studio in Escondido, CA today to take a few photos of my younger brother Jordan. Scott Exum who is the owner of the studio laid down some tracks of Jordan for his new album while I got a few images. I will keep you posted with a link to Jordan's new album when it is finished.
Any bands in southern California looking to record their bands should definitely hit up Scott for his expertise. He is very well known and has a lot of history in San Diego. Check out his website for more information.

"BlueBloodRed" & "Being Jared" Birthday Bash

Headed over to Pier View Pub in Oceanside to celebrate my younger brother Jordan's birthday.
Michele and I cruised over a little earlier to check out the Oceanside Street Fair which is held on Thursdays on the same street as Pier View Pub. Plenty of good food and lots of interesting stuff to check out at each of the vendors booths. If you have not attended the Oceanside Street Fair it is worth checking out.
Jordan set up a show for his band (Being Jared) and my other brother Jeff's band (BlueBloodRed) to play a show on his birthday 7.15.2010. Jordan was pretty stoked to finally play a show with his older brother whom he looks up to a great deal. Jeff & Jordan have always been the true musicians of the family and I was proud to see them both doing what they love to do in front of family & friends.

Sophia - Final Images

Just got the final images back from one of my re-touchers today for Sophia. Out of these 4 images Sopia is going to choose one for her iTunes cover and add the rest to her C.D. layout.
To see the before and after of these images zoomed in to 100-200% is quite impressive. The detail that goes into re-touching is a lot of work and it pays off in the end. I highly recommend paying a few extra dollars to have a very nice image re-touched to make it look it's absolute best. I don't knock my Photo Shop skills at all, but, some folks are truly amazing at what they do in Photo Shop. Looking forward to seeing Sophia finished product and also hearing some of her tunes.

"Being Jared" - Ro Sham Bo

My younger brother Jordan called me today and asked me for some help with an idea he had for his band "Being Jared". The band was named after a knuckle head friend of his (I won't get into details) and the guy wants to play Rock , Paper, Scissors all the time. So..., Jordan thought it would be a good idea for a shirt or just having the image for the band. Jordan is in the process of taking a Photoshop class so he is interested in learning a few things. With the rain it was a great day to photograph something in doors. Below is what we completed today in the small amount of time we had.
Hope he learned a few things and I was happy to help out.

Sophia - iTunes Cover

Photographed Sophia today for her iTunes cover and her soon to be released C.D. Sophia is a local up and coming singer that has quite the voice on her.
Our shoot started today at 2:00 and we ended right before 6:30. Below are a handful of images out of a couple hundred we took today. We got quite a few different looks down in the amount of time we had. First part of the shoot started at a local studio here in Oceanside and the second half we finished down by the beach. Overall I think the images came out great and I think Sophia will be extremely happy.
Once all the final images have been chosen and a C.D. cover has been designed I will upload a few more.
Nice work today Sophia, you did a great job!
