JR: "Inside Out" - Project Video

JR-Art

This video was sent to me by my wife Michele and I thought I would share for those who have not seen this yet. Very impressive to see what some can do with photography & art. Be sure to watch the video all the way to the end. Very cool to see the size and scale of some of these prints and how he assembles and uses them. Putting the religion & politics aside I do appreciate the size and magnitude of the artwork and how it is presented.
JR is a french street artist and is trying to unite people with a global art project. The project is called "Inside Out", which focuses on bringing communities together in the form of art. JR worked with TED who awarded him the 2011 prize for the project and Huge, which designed the website for the project. For more information and to see more work of JR check out his website.

Banksy in Oceanside - Graffiti Artist

The oscar nominated and internationally known graffiti artist Banksy has possibly hit up Bull Taco, a local taco shop located here in Oceanside, CA. There is a lot of buzz over the internet questioning if it is or isn't Banksy's art work. Of course I had to head over and snap a few photos and check it out for myself. For those not familiar with his work check out his website or his movie trailer for more information. I recently watched his newly released movie "Exit Through The Gift Shop" and it definitely gets the creative juices flowing.
Head over to Bull Taco located at 1815 South Coast Hwy in Oceanside to check out the work and enjoy a taco.

BlueBloodRed - Final C.D. Artwork

The band BlueBloodRed based out of San Diego, California is in the final stages of completing their debut album, "Fill the Void". The C.D has been mixed and mastered and they are just finishing up the C.D. artwork and layout. Check out this previous "post" of images from their photo shoot for their album. Adam, the bands singer & guitarist headed up to my house with a car full of gear to slam into one image. Once we had everything unloaded and sorted out I began to arrange the items in a somewhat organized fashion. Didn't really want the eye to be drawn to anything in particular, but, I did want just an accent of each piece showing. After carefully propping up and balancing each really expensive guitar I slowly adjusted and positioned each item to my liking. Snapped off some images and we finally decided on the image below. Gave them a few color options to choose from and the final group consensus was with the full color image.
Really looking forward to the finished product of the music and the C.D. artwork. These guys have put a lot of hard work and money into this project and I really happy to see them complete their goal.

BlueBloodRed CD Cover - "Fill the Void"

Just finished assembling a C.D. cover for a local band called BlueBloodRed. My older brother Jeff is in the band and plays bass guitar and they are releasing a C.D. in the near future. Jeff stopped by today to go over the final layout, font and a few other details. I'm extremely proud of my brother Jeff for moving forward with his music and passion. Jeff has released a handful of C.D.'s in the past, but, I have a feeling this work of art is going to have a lot more meaning behind it.
Not just saying this because he is my brother, but, I think Jeff is musical genius and he will eventually do something big with music. He has truly inspired me over the years and has helped me tremendously to pursue my goal of playing guitar.
As soon as the C.D. is released I will post a link to where it can be purchased or heard and do a little write up about the entire band.

Check out, "The Rain Song" on their myspace page. 5th song down. Just me, but, I dig the simplicity in the guitars.
